In the past few days, I've happened to notice some particularly terrific designs being added to Ravelry, so I thought I'd share. If the trend of cool design continues, I suspect this sharing may become a regular feature. :)
Duluth Skyline Double Knit Hat
This is by Emily, who is KnitterTek on Ravelry. No pattern is available, but MAN. That is one damn fine use of the double-faced technique.
Thor Cardigan
By Annina Päivärinta, this thing is epic. It apparently involves crocheting one of the cables on the hammer's edge in order to make the design work, but who the heck cares. I know a number of SCA Viking guys who would really appreciate this one! Sadly, the designer hasn't made the pattern available, but she says she will if someone reallyreallyreally wants her to, so there's hope.
Sprout Blanket
Is this not the CUTEST?!? It's the brainchild of Hanna Breetz. I asked her about the dimensions, and she says it's 2 feet square; she heard on a podcast that this was a handy size of baby blanket to carry around. However, if - like me - you favour a larger blanket for your baby knits, I imagine it would be extremely easy to add more "stalks" to make it wider, and to repeat the vertical pattern a bit more to make it taller. Or you could just increase the amount of reverse stocking stitch surrounding the stalks and make it bigger that way. Anyhoo, the pattern can be yours for only $5US. As of this writing, she hasn't updated her blog to include a purchase link yet, but if you're on Ravelry, the pattern page is here and you can purchase from there.

That is cute. And the sweater is pretty magnificent but that hat is cool.
Congrats on being in the top 10!
