Pattern: Slainte Mhor Eachuinn Socks



This pattern is fiddly and takes a lot of concentration because of all the intarsia it requires, but if you feel the end result is worth it, then you’ll like the payoff.

Sizing

  • Finished leg length: 6.5”
  • Finished leg girth: 9”
  • Finished foot girth: 9”

Model shown has a foot length of 11”. This can be easily changed as needed (customizing foot length is part of the pattern instructions), but keep in mind that if you make the feet longer than 11”, you’ll need more Colour A yarn.

  • Knitting, purling

  • Using DPNs (or another technique to achieve the same thing, such as Magic Loop)
  • Chart reading
  • Combining intarsia and stranded knitting
  • Cables

Materials needed

  • Yarn: Fingering weight yarn, as follows (yardages are approximates)
    • Colour A: 335yds
    • Colour B: 50 yards
    • Colour C: 25 yards
    • Colour D: 20 yards
    • Colour E: 20 yards
  • Needles: 
    • 3mm straight needles
    • 2.5mm DPNs
  • Cable needle

Gauge

  • 32 stitches and 48 rows = 4” in stocking stitch on 2.5mm needles
